Judicial Magistrate Shaista Khan Kundi has issued a written order stating that the legal heirs of both victims have forgiven the accused. Affidavits confirming the settlement were submitted to the court by the victims’ families.
The written order issued by the magistrate also noted that the heirs raised no objection if the accused is acquitted after being granted bail.
Last Saturday, Magistrate Shaista Khan Kundi had already ordered the release on bail of the accused, Abuzar. This followed statements from the victims’ families confirming that they had pardoned him.
Police reported that the two women, identified as 26-year-old Samreen Hussain and 27-year-old Tabinda Batool, were riding a scooter when a speeding vehicle struck them, killing both on the spot.
The written order issued marks the formal acknowledgment of the families’ forgiveness and sets the stage for Abuzar’s legal acquittal. Court documents show that all necessary procedures, including affidavits and statements from the heirs, have been completed.
Separately, a viral video recently surfaced showing a woman being assaulted at a massage center in Islamabad. The footage showed the center owner cutting her hair while others stood nearby, triggering public outrage on social media.
Following the viral incident, SSP Operations ordered the immediate registration of a case against the suspects and their arrest. Authorities emphasized that violence against women will not be tolerated and assured strict action against the perpetrators.
The written order issued in the scooter accident case and the swift response to the massage center incident demonstrate the judiciary and police’s commitment to upholding the law while respecting victims’ rights.
These developments highlight the balance between legal accountability and social justice in Pakistan, showing that courts can act swiftly when settlements are reached and authorities remain vigilant against crimes.
