Yango Pakistan Partners with NowPDP to Support Disabled Drivers

Yango Pakistan, part of the global tech company Yango Group, has partnered with NowPDP to launch ‘Baikhtiyar Pakistan’, an inclusive mobility and livelihood program. The initiative aims to create earning opportunities for persons with disabilities through the Yango platform.

The launch ceremony was held at the NowPDP Centre of Excellence for Disability Inclusion in Karachi. It was inaugurated by Mr. Saeed Ghani, Provincial Minister of Sindh for Labour and Information and Human Resources.

As part of the first phase, Yango Pakistan has provided five retrofitted rickshaws to persons with disabilities selected by NowPDP. The company plans to expand the initiative in future stages, increasing the fleet and outreach.

The program reflects Yango Group’s commitment to economic empowerment and digital inclusion. By removing barriers to earning, Yango seeks to enable greater financial independence for persons with disabilities across Pakistan.

Miral Sharif, Country Head at Yango Pakistan, said: “Disability should never become an obstacle between will and opportunity. Persons with disabilities are equally capable. We are proud to pioneer a program that promotes sustainable earning opportunities in Pakistan’s ride-hailing industry. This is just the beginning of advancing digital inclusion, and we aim to expand such partnerships for lasting empowerment.”

Amin Hashwani, President of NowPDP, emphasized the importance of collaboration: “Pakistan’s inclusion journey requires strong public-private partnerships. Initiatives like Baikhtiyar Pakistan show how innovation and social development can work together. Sustainable change also needs forward-looking legislation to enable participation of persons with disabilities in the workforce.”

Through programs like Baikhtiyar Pakistan, Yango continues to align innovation with social impact. The initiative strengthens Yango’s role as a technology partner committed to creating economic opportunities and inclusive growth for communities across Pakistan.
