ISLAMABAD: Yango Ride has released its 2024โ2025 Safety Report, highlighting improvements in ride safety across its markets.
The report focuses on technology, verification systems and human support. These measures aim to make journeys safer for passengers and partner drivers.
In Pakistan, Yango recorded a 31% decline in post-trip contacts. The decrease highlights the impact of privacy-focused communication tools.
These tools allow passengers and drivers to communicate without sharing personal phone numbers. Features include in-app calling and number masking.
The report covers safety measures used before, during and after each journey. These include identity verification, protected communication and route monitoring.
It also includes systems for reporting and addressing safety concerns after trips. The company says these measures help improve accountability across its services.
Traffic Violations Decline Globally
According to the report, grave traffic violations declined by 31% globally. The rate fell from 9.83 incidents per million trips in 2024.
It dropped to 6.76 incidents per million trips in 2025. The company also reported progress across several other regions.
In MENA and South Asia, reported reckless driving incidents fell by 47%. The rate decreased from 19.25 to 10.1 incidents per million trips.
Further declines were also recorded across Africa and Latin America. The figures reflect the company’s focus on preventing unsafe driving behaviour.
Privacy Tools Improve Communication
In Pakistan, privacy-protecting technology has supported safer post-trip communication. Passengers and drivers can contact each other without revealing permanent numbers.
The latest report shows a 31% reduction in post-trip contacts in Pakistan. The decline was higher in Peru and Colombia.
Post-trip contacts fell by 81% in Peru and 78% in Colombia. The company linked these results to protected communication features.
Yango has also strengthened its driver verification procedures. These checks include driving licence, identity and vehicle verification.
During 2024โ2025, selfie-based anti-fraud measures were expanded to Pakistan. The technology was also introduced in other markets.
The system aims to identify attempts to bypass identity verification controls. Globally, Yango blocked 17,275 passenger accounts during the period.
These accounts were blocked after signs of possible fraudulent activity were identified.
24/7 Emergency Support
Yango Ride also uses ratings, reports and GPS signals to identify safety concerns. Driving-style analysis can help detect repeated unsafe behaviour.
Emergency support is available around the clock across Yango Ride markets. The company targets first contact within five minutes in 90% of urgent cases.
Technology helps identify urgent requests and route them to trained specialists. Human teams then review and respond to reported situations.
In Pakistan, Yango has also connected its safety system with public emergency infrastructure. The company works with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
Users can contact emergency number 15 through Yango’s in-app safety feature. Relevant trip and location information can then be shared with police.
This system is designed to support faster emergency responses. The company said safety remains an ongoing responsibility.
Across its global operations, an incident or near miss occurs once every 64,000 kilometres. Yango said it will focus increasingly on early risk detection.
