President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday highlighted the need for informed leadership and national unity to address Pakistan’s growing security challenges. He emphasized that integrated and well-coordinated policies are essential for safeguarding the country’s stability.
The President made these remarks during his visit to the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad. He addressed participants of the 27th National Security Workshop (NSW-27), according to a statement issued by ISPR.
The workshop gathered parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials, academics, and members of civil society. NSW-27 aimed to enhance understanding of how different elements of national power work together under the concept of Comprehensive National Security. This approach helps institutions better respond to modern security challenges.
In his speech, President Zardari congratulated the participants for completing the workshop. He praised their commitment to improving national security awareness and strengthening coordination among institutions.
He noted that the country requires unity and strategic planning to manage present-day security challenges. The President encouraged a whole-of-nation mindset where all sectors contribute to long-term stability.
The National Security Workshop at NDU is widely recognized as one of Pakistan’s key platforms for meaningful national dialogue. It plays a major role in building institutional capacity and promoting cooperation among different stakeholders.
During the ceremony, President Zardari also distributed certificates to the graduating participants. He urged them to apply their learning and continue contributing to policies that support national resilience.
The event concluded with a renewed focus on collaboration, informed decision-making, and the importance of strengthening national institutions. The President’s remarks reinforced the idea that unity, knowledge, and effective planning are essential for navigating the complex security environment Pakistan faces today.
