PM Kakar Attends OIC Emergency Meeting in Saudi Arabia on Israel-Gaza War

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), addressing the intensifying conflict in Gaza. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has called for this extraordinary summit to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza, where Israel’s aggressive actions have led to significant Palestinian casualties and forced many to flee their homes. The meeting is expected to provide a platform for leaders to discuss and coordinate responses to the crisis.

Upon arrival in Riyadh, PM Kakar was received by Riyadh Deputy Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz and other senior officials. During his three-day visit, PM Kakar is scheduled to participate in the emergency meeting and engage in sideline discussions with leaders from various countries attending the summit.

Pakistan has consistently expressed its complete solidarity with Palestine and its people, strongly condemning Israel’s brutal and indiscriminate use of force against civilians, including women and children, in Gaza. The conflict has prompted several nations to recall their envoys from Israel and cut diplomatic ties, highlighting the severity and global concern surrounding the situation.

The international community, including the United States and the United Nations, has called on Israel to ensure the avoidance of civilian casualties and urged an immediate ceasefire to facilitate aid delivery and humanitarian efforts. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized that the military offensive against Gaza will continue, underscoring the complexities and challenges in resolving the conflict.
