Federal Minister for Communications Aleem Khan held an important meeting with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo and other senior officials in Islamabad. The talks focused on boosting trade, transport, and communication cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, Aleem Khan said Pakistan is working to expand trade with Central Asia and Europe through modern rail and road connectivity. He noted that better transport links would help increase trade volume and allow both countries to benefit from shared expertise in the communications sector.
The minister highlighted that building strong trade corridors and efficient communication infrastructure is a top priority for Pakistan. He welcomed the Kazakh delegation’s visit, stressing that long-term strategic cooperation would serve both nations.
The delegation included Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo, Minister of Transport, Deputy Trade Minister Nurlan Soranbayev, Arman Sheklov, and the Kazakh ambassador. On Pakistan’s side, federal ministers Rana Tanvir Hussain (Food Security) and Hanif Abbasi (Railways) also joined the talks.
Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including joint projects in transportation, communication, and infrastructure development. Aleem Khan emphasized that coordinated efforts could create significant economic opportunities for both countries.
Deputy Prime Minister Nurtelo expressed goodwill towards the people of Pakistan and praised the strong brotherly ties between the two nations. He also conveyed sympathy over the recent floods in Pakistan, assuring support and cooperation in the future.
The meeting reflected the shared commitment of Pakistan and Kazakhstan to deepen ties, enhance regional connectivity, and open new avenues for trade and investment. Both sides agreed that greater collaboration in transport and communication will play a key role in strengthening economic relations.
