The Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA) released a statement expressing warm approval of Dr. Umar Saif’s appointment, deeming it highly deserved. PASHA anticipates his visionary guidance and unwavering dedication to technology will be an inspiring force, extending well-wishes for his new role.

Dr. Umar Saif was sworn in as the Caretaker Minister, holding the IT, Telecom, and Science and Technology portfolios. In a tweet, he acknowledged taking the oath after declining governmental positions for years, noting the opportunity to serve the nation at a crucial juncture. His tweet emphasized the potential of IT to reshape Pakistan’s economy, improve systems, curtail corruption, and serve citizens.

Renowned for his expertise in academia, management, consulting, and IT entrepreneurship, Dr. Umar Saif has held significant positions within Pakistan’s IT landscape. Notably, he served as Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board and as Vice Chancellor of the Information Technology University. His contributions were acknowledged with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (SI), a prominent civil award by the Government of Pakistan, in 2014.
