Maryam Pledges to Safeguard Bureaucrats

Maryam Nawaz, the chief organizer of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the party’s nominee for the Punjab chief minister’s position, has warned against threatening the bureaucracy, indirectly referring to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). She stated that those who threaten the bureaucracy are creating chaos in the state system and such actions are an invitation to disaster.

Maryam urged officers not to be intimidated by threats and to perform their duties according to the law. She warned that individuals threatening the security of officers would be dealt with firmly. This statement follows allegations made by Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha, who resigned, claiming rigging in the recent general elections, a charge denied by the Election Commission of Pakistan and Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

PML-N leader Malik Ahmad Khan accused the PTI of inciting hate against government officers and urged the interim government to take action against the party.
