NA Session Rescheduled for Constitutional Amendment Consideration

The National Assembly session to discuss constitutional amendments has been rescheduled for 4:00 pm today, Sunday. The session, originally set for 11:30 am, was postponed based on recommendations from the Parliament’s special committee.

Additionally, the special committee’s meeting, initially planned for earlier, has been rescheduled to 2:00 pm, just ahead of the National Assembly session. The federal government is working to build a consensus on the proposed constitutional changes.

This morning, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari contacted JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss the amendment bill. Meetings continued late Saturday night between the opposition, coalition government, and Fazlur Rehman to secure his support.

Bilawal, along with PPP members, met Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and after their meeting, Bilawal left with a victory sign. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended with a message from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A PTI delegation also met Maulana Fazlur Rehman, expressing optimism after the discussion. PTI leader Barrister Gohar mentioned the positive atmosphere, with another PTI member, Hamid Raza, expressing happiness after his first visit to Maulana’s house.
