By-elections across 13 constituencies brought a strong victory for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. The PML-N won 12 seats nationwide, marking one of its most dominant performances in recent polls. The party secured six National Assembly seats and claimed six out of seven Punjab Assembly seats. Only one provincial seat went to the PPP.
A major political upset took place in NA-18 Haripur, where PML-N candidate Babar Nawaz Khan defeated a PTI-backed contender. His win surprised many observers and gave the party a clear edge in a key battleground constituency.
PML-N sweeps National Assembly seats
The PML-N secured all six National Assembly seats it contested. The biggest surprise came from NA-18 Haripur. Babar Nawaz Khan received 163,996 votes. PTI-backed Shehrnaz Umar Ayub followed with 120,220 votes. The margin highlighted the partyโs growing influence in the region.
In NA-96 Jaranwala, Bilal Badar Chaudhry secured victory with 93,999 votes. Independent candidate Nawab Malik Sher Waseer came second with 43,025 votes.
The seat of NA-143 Chichawatni was also won by the PML-N. Candidate Chaudhry Tufail finished ahead of independent contender Zarar Akbar.
In NA-129 Lahore, Hafiz Noman defeated independent candidate Arsalan Ahmed, strengthening the partyโs position in Punjabโs capital.
PML-N candidate Sardar Mahmood Qadir Leghari won NA-185 by defeating PPPโs Dost Muhammad Khosa. In NA-144, Raja Daniyal secured 52,791 votes against opposition candidate Rana Adnan, who received 19,262 votes.
Strong PML-N performance in Punjab Assembly
The by-elections for seven Punjab Assembly constituencies also favoured the PML-N. The party won six seats, while the PPP secured only one.
In PP-203 Chichawatni, Hanif Jatt received 46,820 votes. Independent candidate Falak Sher Dogar secured 10,975 votes.
Tahir Jamil won PP-115 Faisalabad with 49,046 votes. In PP-87 Mianwali, Ali Haider Noor secured 67,870 votes, finishing ahead of independent candidate Ayaz Khan Niazi.
In PP-116 Faisalabad, Rana Sheharyar won with 48,824 votes. The only PPP win came from PP-269 Muzaffargarh, where Alamdar Hussain claimed victory with 55,611 votes.

In PP-73 Sargodha, Mian Sultan Ali Ranjha defeated independent candidate Haris Ranjha. The PP-98 Faisalabad seat was won by Ali Tabassum, who ran as a PML-N-backed independent.
