PTI founder Imran Khan has been declared medically fit following a medical examination at a hospital.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar confirmed the development while speaking to the media. His statement came after Khan returned to Adiala Jail.
Tarar said Khan was taken to the hospital under appropriate security arrangements. He said authorities acted in line with the Supreme Courtโs directives.
According to the minister, the PTI founder underwent a detailed medical assessment at PIMS Hospital. Doctors from Shifa International Hospital also participated in the examination.
Tarar explained why Khan was taken to PIMS instead of another facility. He said the decision considered the security situation along the route and around the hospital.
The minister said PTI workers were present in the area. Authorities therefore considered security arrangements before deciding on the medical facility.
A team of medical specialists examined Khan during the assessment. The team included ophthalmologists, cardiologists, and physicians.
After the examination, doctors declared the PTI founder medically fit. No immediate medical issue requiring continued hospitalisation was reported.
Khanโs sister, Uzma Khan, was also present during the medical examination. Her presence was confirmed by the federal minister.
Following the assessment, Khan was transferred back to Adiala Jail. Tarar said the transfer took place at around 5 a.m.
The development followed directions from the Supreme Court regarding Khanโs health. The court had directed that appropriate medical examination and care be provided.
Tarar said Khan had already been receiving necessary medical facilities during his detention. He added that appropriate treatment would continue whenever required.
The minister also stressed that authorities had followed security protocols during Khanโs hospital transfer. He said the arrangements were made according to the circumstances.
The medical examination involved specialists from different fields. Their assessment was aimed at reviewing Khanโs overall medical condition.
The PTI founder remains in custody at Adiala Jail following his return from the hospital. His latest medical assessment has now been completed.
Authorities will continue to provide medical care if doctors consider it necessary. The government has also maintained that Khanโs health needs will be addressed appropriately.
The development comes amid continued attention surrounding Khanโs health while in custody. His medical condition has remained a subject of concern among his supporters.
The latest examination provides an official assessment of his condition. According to Tarar, the medical team found him fit after conducting the required checks.
