PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said peaceful protest is a constitutional right. He said PTI supporters will participate in a major demonstration on September 27.

Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, Sohail Afridi said PTI was facing unfair treatment. He maintained that the Constitution allows citizens to hold peaceful demonstrations.

The chief minister said a large number of PTI supporters would join the planned protest. He added that the detailed protest strategy would be announced on September 25.

Sohail Afridi said there was no question of stepping back from the planned political mobilisation. He stated that the long march would proceed under all circumstances.

According to the chief minister, PTI does not want confrontation with state institutions. He said the party was pursuing its demands through peaceful and democratic methods.

Afridi also warned against the use of force during the planned demonstration. He said such action could increase tensions and lead to further violence.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister also criticised recent remarks by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He rejected any comparison of PTI workers with terrorists.

Sohail Afridi said PTI supporters were exercising their constitutional right to express their concerns. He maintained that the party’s political struggle remained peaceful.

He further said PTI workers were not planning an armed confrontation with authorities. According to him, the party intends to raise its demands through political activity.

The September 27 protest is expected to be a major political mobilisation by PTI supporters. Further details about the route and arrangements are expected on September 25.
