The Punjab government’s decision to adjust school timings for the summer season reflects a proactive approach to ensure the well-being of school-going children amid rising temperatures. Here are the details of the new school timings:
- Regular School Timings: Schools in Punjab will now start classes at 7:45 am and conclude at 1:15 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the classes will begin at 7:45 am and end at 11:45 am.

- Double-Shift Schools: For schools operating in double-shifts, the first-shift classes will be held from 7:45 am to 12:15 pm, while the second shift will be conducted from 12:45 pm to 5:15 pm.
These adjusted timings aim to provide relief to students from the scorching heat during the summer months. It’s important to note that while these changes offer temporary relief, the government is yet to announce the start date for summer vacations, which are expected to commence in early June.
