Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem qualified for the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships final with a remarkable 86.34m throw on his first attempt in the Group A qualifiers.
His throw topped the leaderboard and secured him a place in the final, set for May 31 at 1:10pm PKT. Fellow Pakistani Yasir Sultan also advanced with a 76.7m throw from Group B.

This marks Nadeem’s return to international competition after his historic 92.97m gold medal throw at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Recently honoured as Best Asian Athlete, Nadeem is aiming for yet another title.
With over 2,000 athletes from 43 countries competing in Gumi, South Korea, Pakistan’s hopes rest on Nadeem as he eyes a podium finish before heading to England to prepare for the World Championships.
