China Leads The Medal Count at The Paris 2024 Olympics With 11 Gold Medals

On the sixth day of the Paris 2024 Olympics, China added 2 more gold medals, reaching a total of 11 and retaining their lead in the medal standings. France and Japan are tied for second with 8 golds each, while Australia and the USA are fourth and fifth with 7 and 6 golds, respectively.

Bryan Daniel of Ecuador won gold in the men’s 20km walk, while China’s Yang Jiayu took gold in the women’s 20km walk. China’s Liu Yukun won the gold in the men’s 50m rifle three positions shooting event.

New Zealand clinched gold in the women’s double sculls rowing final, with Romania winning gold in the men’s double sculls. The Netherlands secured gold in the women’s four rowing final, and the USA took gold in the men’s four rowing event.

In judo, Azerbaijan’s Zelim earned his country’s second gold by defeating Georgia’s Elia Saliman Zadeh in the men’s 100kg final. Italy’s Giovanni De Gennaro won gold in the men’s kayak singles final of canoe slalom, while Italy also claimed gold in the women’s 78kg judo category with Alice Belandi defeating Israel’s judoka.

The USA won its seventh gold in women’s artistic gymnastics, with Simone Biles shining in the all-around event. Canada’s Summer McIntosh won gold in the women’s 200m butterfly, and Hungary’s Hubert Kos won the men’s 200m backstroke.
