AB de Villiers, the legendary former South African cricketer, has confirmed his return to competitive cricket, marking his first appearance since retiring four years ago. De Villiers retired from international cricket in 2018 and continued playing in franchise leagues until his final retirement in 2021. However, the growing interest in the sport from his young sons has reignited his passion for cricket. “My sons have started playing, and we’ve been playing together a lot. It feels as though some kind of flame has been lit again,” said de Villiers.

The World Championship of Legends is a unique T20 tournament that features retired and non-contracted cricketers representing their national teams. The 2025 edition will be the second of its kind, following India’s triumph in the inaugural 2024 tournament, led by Yuvraj Singh.

De Villiers’ return to cricket is one of the most anticipated comebacks in recent memory, and fans are eager to see the “Mr. 360” in action once again.
