Lahore Qalandars’ management has announced the amicable conclusion of Aqib Javed’s tenure with the franchise as he takes on new responsibilities with Pakistan Cricket. After serving as the Director of Cricket Operations and Head Coach for eight years, Aaqib Javed’s time with Lahore Qalandars has officially ended.
During his tenure, Aaqib led the team to impressive achievements, including three PSL finals from 2020 to 2023, winning two consecutive titles. The Qalandars management highlighted Aaqib’s crucial role in shaping the team’s success and direction.

Aaqib expressed his gratitude, stating, “My journey with Qalandars has been unforgettable, filled with memorable moments and significant achievements. The Player Development Program, which has been close to my heart, brought me immense satisfaction as I witnessed young talent thrive.”
He added that it was a proud experience to contribute to the franchise’s success and felt it was the right time to embrace a new challenge with the national team.
Lahore Qalandars’ CEO, Sameen Rana, commended Aaqib’s contributions, saying, “We are proud of the achievements Aaqib Javed brought to us. His relentless efforts helped elevate the franchise’s vision and philosophy. Aaqib’s legacy will always be a source of pride for Qalandars.”
While expressing sadness over Aaqib’s departure, Rana conveyed excitement for his future endeavors with the national team.
