The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that the departure of its men’s ‘A’ team to Islamabad has been postponed by 48 hours due to “unforeseen circumstances,” as stated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
This delay follows the resignation and departure of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday amid a violent crackdown on protests demanding her resignation, which began over job quotas and resulted in numerous deaths.

The Bangladesh ‘A’ team was originally set to arrive in Islamabad early Wednesday for a series including two four-day matches and three 50-over games from August 10-27.
According to the PCB, the BCB and PCB have been in regular communication over the past two days and will continue to work together on adjusting the tour schedule, with more details to follow.
The unrest in Bangladesh also poses a threat to the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in October.
