A squad replacement requires formal approval, which has now been granted by the Event Technical Committee. The panel overseeing the decision comprised Wasim Khan, Sarah Edgar, Usman Wahla, and Shaun Pollock.

Imam’s selection is expected to bolster Pakistan’s batting strength as they aim for a strong tournament run. With his experience and consistency, he adds much-needed stability to the top order.

Pakistan’s upcoming fixtures are crucial, especially with the highly anticipated clash against India ahead. While Fakhar’s absence is a blow, Imam’s inclusion provides an opportunity for the team to rebuild momentum and stay competitive.

Cricket fans are eager to see Imam’s performance in this high-pressure role. His ability to hold the innings together and play sensibly will be vital to Pakistan’s chances.

As the tournament unfolds, Pakistan will be looking to optimize its new squad setup and push for a successful campaign in the Champions Trophy 2025.
