T20I

David Miller’s power-packed 82 off 40 balls, supported by George Linde’s late 48, helped South Africa post 183/9 in the opening T20I against Pakistan at Kingsmead Stadium, Durban.

After opting to bat, South Africa faced early setbacks as Shaheen Afridi and Abrar Ahmed dismantled the top order, leaving the Proteas at 28/3 in the powerplay. Abrar bowled Reeza Hendricks with a stunning googly, while Shaheen rattled Rassie van der Dussen’s stumps.

Miller counterattacked with eight sixes and four fours, forming a steady partnership with captain Heinrich Klaasen before Abbas Afridi dismissed Klaasen and Donovan Ferreira.

Shaheen (3/31) and Abrar (3/25) shone with the ball for Pakistan, while Abbas Afridi claimed 2/28.

Pakistan will need a strong batting display to chase down the target in this high-stakes opener.
