Pakistan finally ended its home Test losing streak after three years, eight months, and 11 days, bowling out England for 144 runs in the second Test of the three-match series.
Spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan claimed all 20 wickets, leading Pakistan to victory in Multan and leveling the series. This win marks Pakistan’s first Test victory under Shan Masood’s captaincy and their first on home soil since February 2021.

In a surprising move, Pakistan rested three key players—Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah—after their disappointing performance in the first Test, where they lost by an innings.
During England’s second innings, spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali quickly dismantled the top and middle order. England was chasing a target of 297 but struggled, losing seven wickets for 125 runs as Pakistan’s spinners took full advantage of the favorable conditions.
Noman Ali stood out with five wickets, while Sajid Khan excelled in England’s first innings, taking seven for 111. The turning point came on Day 3, when Sajid’s performance secured Pakistan a 75-run lead, helping the team post 366 runs in their first innings. England, led by Ben Duckett’s 114, managed to score 291 in response.
With the Multan pitch assisting spin, Pakistan is in a strong position to finish the match and break their winless streak at home, which has persisted since 2021. England now faces a challenging task as they rely on their middle order to counter Pakistan’s relentless spin attack.
