Pakistan Clinches 37-Run Win Over Bangladesh in T20I Series Opener at Lahore

Pakistan began the T20I series on a high note, defeating Bangladesh by 37 runs in the first match held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

After choosing to bat first, Pakistan set a challenging total of 201/7. Captain Salman Agha anchored the innings with a composed 56, while Shadab Khan added a quickfire 48 and Hasan Nawaz contributed 44. Mohammad Haris chipped in with 31 runs.

The lower order offered limited resistance, with Faheem Ashraf (11*) and Hasan Ali (1*) remaining unbeaten. Khushdil Shah, Fakhar Zaman, and Saim Ayub failed to make an impact, scoring 5, 1, and 0 respectively.

In response, Bangladesh was bowled out for 164 in 19.2 overs while chasing 202. Skipper Litton Das top-scored with 48, followed by Jaker Ali’s 36, Tanzid Hasan’s 31, and Towhid Hridoy’s 17. However, the rest of the batting lineup crumbled under pressure, with Hasan Mahmud finishing unbeaten on 9.

Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Hasan Ali, who delivered a match-winning performance by taking 5 wickets. Shadab Khan picked up 2, while Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, and Salman Agha claimed one wicket each.

For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam stood out with 2 wickets, while Shamim Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Sakib, and Rishad Hossain took one apiece.
