Pakistan secured a commanding 57-run victory over Bangladesh in the second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Friday, taking an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This win marks Pakistan’s first home T20I series triumph since 2021.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Pakistan posted a strong total of 201/6 in their 20 overs, powered by an explosive innings from Sahibzada Farhan. Farhan scored a blistering 74 runs off just 41 balls, including 4 fours and 6 sixes, maintaining a strike rate of 180.48. Despite losing some wickets towards the end, Pakistan’s aggressive batting ensured they crossed the 200-run mark comfortably.

Bangladesh struggled to break through Pakistan’s batting line-up, with Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sakib each claiming two wickets. However, the visitors’ batting faltered early in their chase, and they were eventually dismissed for 144 runs in 19 overs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the standout performer for Bangladesh, scoring a quick 50 off 31 deliveries with 5 sixes, but he lacked support from his teammates.
Abrar Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs in his four overs. Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Khushdil Shah, and Saim Ayub each contributed with one wicket, with Faheem being particularly economical, conceding only 8 runs in 2 overs. Bangladesh also suffered an injury blow as Shoriful Islam was unable to bat.
This convincing win not only secured the series for Pakistan but also helped silence critics of their recent T20 performances. It provides a significant morale boost ahead of upcoming fixtures, including the much-anticipated T20 World Cup.
The final match of the series is scheduled for Sunday at the same venue, where Pakistan aims for a clean sweep, while Bangladesh will seek to avoid a whitewash and restore some pride.
