The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming Pakistan Shaheens tour of England. The tour will take place from 17 July to 6 August. The team will play two three-day matches and three 50-over games. Match dates and venues will be shared later.
Middle-order batter Saud Shakeel has been named captain of the squad. He has played 19 Test matches for Pakistan. Other experienced players in the team include Mir Hamza, Musa Khan, and Sajid Khan, who have all represented Pakistan in Test cricket.
The squad also features young talent from domestic competitions. Azan Awais and Maaz Sadaqat have earned their spots after leading the run charts in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024–25. Azan scored 844 runs, while Maaz followed with 646.
Other batters include Ali Zaryab, Haider Ali, Mohammad Suleman, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Shamyl Hussain. Rohail Nazir will take up the role of wicket-keeper during the tour.
Pakistan’s pace attack will be led by Mushtaq Ahmed, who impressed with 77 wickets in recent domestic tournaments. He will be joined by Shahid Aziz and Ubaid Shah. The spin department features Faisal Akram, Mehran Mumtaz, Mubasir Khan, and the experienced Sajid Khan.
Before the team departs for England on 16 July, they will attend a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi.
Pakistan continues to invest in young talent through the Shaheens setup, aiming to prepare future stars for the national team.
