Pakistan defeated England by 79 runs in the 10th match of the World Championship of Legends 2024 at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, UK.
The Men in Green remain unbeaten with this being their fourth victory in the World Championship of Legends tournament, having previously defeated Australia, West Indies, and India.

After being asked to bat first by England, Pakistan posted a total of 196/4. The team faced early setbacks with the dismissals of openers Kamran Akmal (11) and Sharjeel Khan (13). However, a crucial 121-run partnership between Sohaib Maqsood and Shoaib Malik helped Pakistan set a substantial total. Maqsood scored 44 off 31 balls, while Malik contributed 33 off 28 balls. Misbah-ul-Haq, the team’s captain, added 14 off 10 balls, and Abdul Razzaq scored 9 off 5 balls.
England’s Meaker was the standout bowler with figures of 2/25. Pakistan’s bowlers then successfully defended their 197-run target by removing England captain Kevin Pietersen early. Phil Mustard kept England’s hopes alive, but Ian Bell (11) was run out by Yasir Arafat, and Mustard (34) was dismissed while attempting to accelerate. Kevin O’Brien (24) was clean bowled by Shoaib Malik.
England struggled as Pakistan took wickets at regular intervals, eventually dismissing them for 117. Saeed Ajmal claimed three wickets, Abdul Razzaq took two, and Shoaib Malik, Sohail Khan, and Aamer Yamin each secured one wicket.
The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals of World Championship of Legends Pakistan leads the points table with 8 points, followed by Australia and India with 4 points each, and England with 2 points.
