PSL 2025 Resumes Today: Peshawar Zalmi Face Karachi Kings Clash

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is set to resume today after a nine-day break, with Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi facing David Warner’s Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Last year’s runners-up, Multan Sultans, who have managed only one win out of nine matches this season, are no longer in contention for the title in this 34-match tournament. The remaining five teams remain in the race for the playoffs.

Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings lead the points table with 13 and 10 points, respectively, while Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi are all in a must-win situation. Zalmi have two league games remaining, and Qalandars have one, both battling hard to secure vital points with four wins each so far.

On Sunday, 18 May, Multan Sultans will play against Quetta Gladiators in the opening match, followed by Peshawar Zalmi taking on Lahore Qalandars. The final league match on 19 May will see Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United compete against Karachi Kings.

The playoff stage, including the Qualifier, Eliminators 1 & 2, and the Final, will take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from 21-25 May, with 24 May designated as a rest day.

In terms of individual performances, after 26 PSL matches, Mohammad Rizwan leads the run-scoring charts with 363 runs (earning the Hanif Mohammad Cap), followed by Sahibzada Farhan with 321 and Fakhar Zaman with 309 runs. On the bowling side, Mohammad Abbas Afridi and Jason Holder share the top spot with 15 wickets each (earning the Fazal Mahmood Cap), while Abrar Ahmed and Hasan Ali are close behind with 14 wickets apiece.

Peshawar Zalmi’s Mohammad Haris has the most dismissals (10), and Quetta Gladiators’ Rilee Rossouw leads in catches with 11.

Fans who had purchased tickets for the matches on 8 May (Peshawar Zalmi vs. Karachi Kings), 9 May (Peshawar Zalmi vs. Lahore Qalandars), and 10 May (Islamabad United vs. Karachi Kings) can use those same tickets for the rescheduled fixtures on 17, 18, and 19 May, respectively.
