The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced its 2024 central contract list, awarding contracts to 29 players. Among the recipients, seven players, including Test captain Ben Stokes and white-ball captain Jos Buttler, have secured two-year deals, reflecting England’s commitment to continuity and long-term planning. Previously on a one-year contract, Stokes joins the extended contract group, alongside notable players like Joe Root and emerging star Harry Brook.
The two-year contract list also features Gus Atkinson, Jamie Smith, and Mark Wood. Jamie Smith, a first-time recipient, joins new contract holders Will Jacks, Shoaib Bashir, Phil Salt, and Olly Stone, who have all secured one-year deals.

Additionally, Development Contracts were awarded to young talents Jacob Bethell, Josh Hull, and John Turner, signaling investment in England’s future lineup. England Men’s Cricket Managing Director Rob Key praised the team’s depth, stating the contracts “reward players who will play an important role” in the national teams.
