India is firmly in control of the first Test against Australia at Perth, ending Day 2 with a lead of 151 runs and their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul unbeaten at stumps. After being bowled out for 150 in their first innings, India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, dominated Australia’s batting lineup, restricting them to just 104 runs in under 40 overs.
Bumrah, along with Mohammed Siraj, was instrumental in dismantling Australia’s top order, while spinners Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin kept the pressure on the middle order. None of Australia’s batsmen could get settled, and Mitchell Starc was their top performer with the ball, finishing with 2/27 in India’s first innings.
