Pakistan Asim Khan Triumphs At The Jones Creek Open Squash Championship

Pakistani squash player Asim Khan secured a victory at the Jones Creek Open Squash Championship in the USA on Sunday.

In the final, which featured a $12,000 prize, Asim Khan triumphed over fellow Pakistani Ahsab Irfan with a 3-1 scoreline. Held in Johns Creek, Georgia, the thrilling match saw Asim, ranked World No. 73 and Pakistan’s top squash player, make a strong comeback after losing the first game to defeat Ahsab Irfan.

The second-seeded Asim won against third-seeded Ahsab with scores of 11-7, 7-11, 4-11, and 4-11, earning his third PSA title of the year and the 10th of his career. Earlier in 2024, Asim won the Wild Card Challenger in Washington and the Squash Inspire Challenger in March.

In other news, Pakistani squash star Nasir Iqbal continued his excellent form by winning the Tasmanian Open Squash Championship in Australia. Iqbal defeated Switzerland’s David Barnett 3-1 with scores of 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, and 11-5.

This victory marks Iqbal’s third title in Australia this year, following wins at the Bendigo International and Shepparton Open, and a semi-final appearance at the Victoria Open.
