PCB Chairman Heads to Dubai for ICC Meeting

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is attending a crucial ICC board meeting in Dubai today. Naqvi departed from Lahore after inspecting ongoing renovation work at Gaddafi Stadium. The meeting will focus on preparations for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which Pakistan is set to host.

During the meeting, Naqvi is expected to provide updates on the progress of construction and renovation efforts at key venues: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. ICC officials have already expressed satisfaction with the work being done, ensuring Pakistan remains on track for the tournament.

This meeting is significant, not only for discussing the tournament preparations but also for anticipated discussions with Indian Cricket Board officials, especially with Pakistan and India being grouped together in the Champions Trophy. The tournament will take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with matches hosted across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host the final and several other key matches, while Karachi will stage the opening match and a semi-final, and Rawalpindi will host five matches, including the other semi-final.
