PCB Conducts Inter-School Talent Hunt Trials in Latifabad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organized cricket trials on Wednesday under its Inter-School Talent Hunt Programme at Government Comprehensive Boys Higher Secondary School, Latifabad No.10.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from school children, who showcased their skills and passion for the sport. Officials noted that the programme is aimed at identifying young talent and providing them opportunities to grow in cricket.

According to details, the trials were supervised by PCB selectors Lal Kumar and Wahab Malik. Their presence added credibility and encouragement for the aspiring cricketers.

School sports in-charge Moeen-ud-Din Shaikh, coach Imran Khan, focal person Zahid Mughal, along with Usman Ishaq and Ashfaq, were also present during the activity. They expressed confidence that such initiatives would help nurture cricket at the grassroots level.

Around 50 students from the school took part in the trials. The selectors observed batting, bowling, and fielding performances to shortlist promising players. Students were motivated to give their best, with many dreaming of representing their district and eventually the national team.

Teachers and coaches emphasized that this programme not only builds sporting skills but also instills discipline and teamwork in young players. Parents also welcomed the initiative, calling it an important step for promoting sports among youth.

The PCB has been expanding its school-level cricket programmes across different regions of Pakistan. The board believes that investing in school cricket is key to building a strong future for the sport in the country.

With continued support, many of these young players could become the next generation of cricketers representing Pakistan at higher levels.
