Tatum Shines As Celtics Lead 3-0 Against Mavericks

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead the Boston Celtics to a 106-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in game three of the NBA finals, giving the Celtics a commanding 3-0 series lead. Tatum scored 31 points, while Brown contributed 30.

Despite the Mavericks narrowing the deficit from 91-70 to one point with three and a half minutes left in the fourth quarter, they couldn’t convert their comeback into a win. Kyrie Irving led the Mavericks with 35 points, supported by Luka Doncic with 27, who fouled out of the game with over four minutes remaining.

The win puts the Celtics one victory away from their 18th NBA title and their first since 2008. Tatum emphasized the team’s focus, saying, “However long it takes, that’s what it’s going to take.” Brown expressed pride in the team’s performance, highlighting their ability to maintain composure and make crucial baskets.

The Mavericks face an uphill battle, as no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win an NBA playoff series. Doncic urged his team to keep believing, stating, “It’s not over till it’s over… We’re going to stay together. We lose together, we win together.”
