Arshad Nadeem will compete in the men’s javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics, held at the Stade de France on Thursday. Nadeem secured his spot with a throw of 86.59m, a season best, while India’s Neeraj Chopra and Grenada’s Anderson Peters also qualified with throws of 89.34m and 86.59m, respectively.
In a video message, Nadeem asked fans to pray for his success, while Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam voiced his support for Nadeem’s bid for gold.

The javelin throw final is scheduled for 11:25 PM PST on August 8, 2024, and will be broadcast on ASports. Nadeem, Pakistan’s key hope for a medal, previously won silver at the 2023 World Championship and gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Pakistan last won an Olympic medal in 1992.
