Stepping up in Virgil van Dijk’s absence, Alexander-Arnold silenced critics with a spectacular strike, doubling Liverpool’s lead after Diogo Jota’s opener. Jayden Danns and Federico Chiesa added second-half goals to seal the win.

Accrington, 86 league positions below Liverpool, held firm for nearly 30 minutes before Jota’s tap-in broke the deadlock. Chiesa, overcoming injury struggles, marked the match with his first Liverpool goal.
Elsewhere, Wolves and Blackburn also advanced, while Manchester City and Chelsea face lower-league opposition later.
