LAHORE โ€” Karachi Kings held their nerve to beat Lahore Qalandars in a thrilling PSL 11 encounter at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. Chasing 129, Karachi secured a four-wicket win with three balls to spare.

The match saw disciplined bowling by Karachi, led by Adam Zampa, who was named player of the match. Zampa took 2-11 in four overs, including a maiden. Mir Hamza and Moeen Ali claimed two wickets each to restrict Lahore to 128-9.

Karachi faced an early setback as Shaheen Shah Afridi removed David Warner and Salman Ali Agha in quick succession. Muhammad Waseem steadied the innings with 38 runs off 37 balls, supported by Moeen Ali and Saad Baig in crucial partnerships.

The final overs were tense, with Lahore penalised five runs for a ball condition breach. Karachi needed nine runs from the last over, and Abbas Afridi smashed a four and a six to seal the victory. Khushdil Shah and Azam Khan played vital roles in reviving the chase.

Earlier, Lahore struggled to build momentum. Fakhar Zaman fell early, and Mohammad Naeem was dismissed in the fourth over. Abdullah Shafique top-scored with 33 runs, while Haseebullah and Sikandar Raza added a 43-run partnership to push Lahore past 100.

The match also saw controversy as Fakhar Zaman was charged with ball tampering. The incident resulted in a five-run penalty to Karachi, proving crucial in the close finish. Fakhar has denied the charge, and a disciplinary hearing is scheduled.
