Max Verstappen dominated the 2025 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, securing his third win of the season and 66th career victory. The Red Bull Racing driver started from pole position and led the race from start to finish.
Verstappen completed the 53-lap race in just 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 24.325 seconds, setting a new record for the fastest Formula One Grand Prix ever. His average speed of 250.706 km/h confirmed his dominance at the historic Italian track.
Earlier, Verstappen also claimed pole position with a record lap time of 1:18.792, the fastest lap in F1 history. During the race, he briefly lost the lead following a pit stop but quickly regained it, maintaining control to the finish.
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finished second and third, respectively. Team orders influenced Piastriβs position after a pit stop issue, allowing Norris to move ahead. Ferrariβs Charles Leclerc finished fourth, while Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton placed fifth and sixth.
This victory ends Verstappenβs nine-race winless streak and strengthens Red Bull Racingβs position in the championship. Despite the win, Verstappen remains third in the driver standings, trailing leader Oscar Piastri by 94 points.
Fans and experts praised Verstappenβs skill, strategy, and speed, noting the perfect combination of driver and car performance. The Italian GP win boosts his confidence as the season continues, with eight races left to close the points gap.
