Kabir, the son of Kohli’s former teammate Shavez Khan, asked what it takes to become an Indian cricketer. Kohli stressed the importance of self-motivation and discipline, advising the youngster to practice harder than others. “If someone practices for an hour, you do it for two,” he suggested.

Kohli is set to play in the Ranji Trophy for the first time since 2012, representing Delhi against Railways on January 30, 2025. His return aligns with BCCI’s push to involve senior players in domestic cricket to mentor young talent.
