Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a major investment of $8.2 billion in Maharashtra to enhance India’s cloud infrastructure by 2030. This move aligns with the country’s growing focus on local data storage, as India’s cloud services market is expected to surge from $8.3 billion in 2023 to $24.2 billion by 2028.
The investment is expected to generate significant employment opportunities while strengthening AWS’s presence in India. The company will deploy advanced cloud technologies, including its own graphics processing units and cloud management services, to support businesses and digital transformation.
