Disable AirPlay Now: 1.8 Billion iPhones at Risk from ‘Airborne’ Hacking Threat

Cybersecurity experts have discovered 23 critical vulnerabilities in Apple’s AirPlay, putting iPhones, Macs, and smart devices at risk of zero-click hacking.

Dubbed Airborne, the threat allows attackers on the same Wi-Fi to hijack your device without any interaction. While Apple has patched the issue in iOS 18.4 and related updates, many third-party devices remain vulnerable.

To stay safe, experts advise turning off AirPlay:
Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity > Automatically AirPlay > Never
