Easypaisa, Pakistan’s leading digital bank, celebrated the first year of its digital banking operations with a grand stakeholder event. The ceremony was attended by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunications, Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change, and several government officials, business leaders, media representatives, and policy experts.
The event was hosted by Easypaisa Board Chairman Irfan Wahab Khan, Board Director and President of Ant International Douglas Feagin, and Easypaisa President & CEO Jahanzeb Khan. The gathering highlighted Easypaisa Digital Bank’s contributions to advancing digital finance in Pakistan and celebrated its milestones over the past year.
During the event, Jahanzeb Khan announced a strategic partnership with WorldFirst, an Ant Group–powered cross-border payments platform. This collaboration allows Easypaisa to offer payments in over 100 currencies across more than 210 countries. Customers can now receive remittances and cross-border payments directly into their Easypaisa accounts with transparent exchange rates and fast settlement. The partnership expands access beyond traditional corridors such as the GCC, UK, and US, benefiting Pakistani workers, freelancers, and exporters.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja praised Easypaisa for its achievements and said the government is prioritizing the promotion of a digital economy. She highlighted efforts to digitize the economy and noted the record growth in IT exports as a positive sign for Pakistan’s development.
Bilal Azhar Kayani commended Easypaisa’s role in promoting cashless transactions and emphasized the importance of integrating digital payments with government services. He added that expanding merchant digitization and encouraging electronic transactions remain key priorities.
Irfan Wahab Khan lauded the support of regulators, government policies, and partners like Ant International. He said the first anniversary of Easypaisa Digital Bank reflects Pakistan’s progress in digital transformation, inclusion, and innovation. Douglas Feagin reaffirmed Ant Group’s commitment to supporting Easypaisa in building an inclusive financial future.

With over 3.8 billion transactions processed in 2025, a customer base representing one in five Pakistanis, and a 31% female user base, Easypaisa continues to set new benchmarks for digital banking and financial empowerment in Pakistan. Its operations now account for approximately 11% of Pakistan’s GDP, demonstrating the growing impact of digital finance nationwide.
