The FBI and CISA have issued a warning to Americans, advising against sending texts between iPhones and Android devices due to cybersecurity risks. They recommend switching to encrypted messaging apps like Signal or WhatsApp for safer communication.
The advisory follows cyberattacks by Salt Typhoon, a Chinese state-linked hacking group targeting U.S. telecom networks. CISA’s Jeff Greene emphasized that encryption provides robust protection, making intercepted data unreadable.

With cybersecurity threats on the rise, officials urge individuals to prioritize encrypted apps for secure messaging and voice calls until universal encryption becomes standard.
