Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost successfully landed on the moon, marking the company’s first lunar mission. Touching down near Mare Crisium, the lander carried 10 scientific payloads and will conduct research for 14 days before the lunar night begins.

The mission is part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program, aimed at advancing private lunar exploration. Firefly’s achievement follows Intuitive Machines’ recent landing, as the US, China, and other nations compete in the global moon race.
