Fortnite Players Await New Season Amid 19-Hour Delay

Fans of Fortnite, a multiplayer game that has gained a massive following around the world, were expecting the release of its new chapter on Friday but Epic Games’ extended maintenance downtime delayed it for around 19 hours.

As usual, Fortnite was taken offline early on Friday to perform some necessary maintenance and prepare the game for all the new content which typically lasts a few hours.

However, a last-minute snag during its maintenance delayed the Greek mythology-themed game leaving fans from around the world waiting to log in, Engadget reported.

Although the game is now online, players are complaining about the “Waiting in Queue” message popping up on their screens which, according to Silicon Era, is due to Epic Games’ 19-hour emergency downtime for maintenance.

The delay has resulted in millions of players around the world trying to access the game at the same time.

Unfortunately, there is no way to skip the Fortnite queue time message but to wait.

To avoid 20 to 30 minutes of wait time, try logging in a few hours or the next day.

The queue will decrease quickly as time passes because the initial rush of players trying to get in simultaneously has caused the wait times to be long.
