Google is testing a new feature called Audio Overviews, offering spoken AI summaries for select search queries as part of its Search Labs program.

Powered by its Gemini models, the feature delivers concise, podcast-style results through a simple audio player. It’s designed for users who prefer listening or are multitasking, with options for playback speed, volume, and source links for deeper reading.
Currently limited to specific topics, Audio Overviews mark another step in Google’s shift toward generative AI. However, the move has sparked concerns among publishers, as AI summaries may reduce traffic to original websites.
