Google is reportedly testing a major Gemini overhaul, introducing a visually engaging interface designed to make the AI app more interactive and user-friendly.
According to Android Authority, the upcoming Gemini overhaul moves away from the traditional chatbot-style layout, featuring a scrollable feed of prompts paired with vibrant images. The redesign aims to encourage creativity and exploration, helping users maximize the app’s capabilities.
The updated interface was discovered in a recent version of the Gemini Android app by a reverse engineer who accessed hidden features in the code. Shortcut buttons like “Create Image” and “Deep Research” have been moved to the top of the screen, followed by a dynamic feed of prompt ideas.
The Gemini overhaul includes creative and productivity-focused prompts such as:
- “Teleport me to deep space.”
- “Give me a vintage or grunge look.”
- “Turn my drawing into a storybook.”
- “Brainstorm out loud with Live.”
- “Send me a daily news roundup.”
These prompts are designed to guide users who may be unsure how to interact with the AI, making Gemini feel less like a standard chatbot and more like an interactive hub for creativity and analysis.
If the Gemini overhaul is officially released, it could enhance user engagement by offering a more immersive experience, encouraging regular app usage. The feed-style design also positions Gemini to compete more effectively with other AI platforms, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT and its popular Sora video editing app.
The redesign may also leverage Google’s Nano Banana image model, which contributed to Gemini’s brief rise to the top of the U.S. App Store charts in September before being overtaken by Sora.
While Google has not officially announced the update, the leaked screenshots indicate a clear focus on blending functionality with inspiration, making the Gemini overhaul one of the most anticipated AI app updates of the year.
