Google is testing a new feature that lets users hear podcast-style answers to search queries directly from the results page. Called Audio Overviews, this experimental tool generates lively discussions between two AI “hosts” who break down topics like “How do noise cancellation headphones work?” in a conversational tone.
Once enabled in Google Labs, a “Generate Audio Overview” button will appear under relevant search results on mobile. Google says the audio takes up to 40 seconds to generate and comes with playback controls and links to the sources used.

These spoken summaries are an extension of the Audio Overviews seen in Gemini and NotebookLM. The goal is to provide hands-free learning while multitasking or for users who prefer listening over reading.
Currently available in English and limited to users in the US, the feature reflects Google’s push to make search more dynamic and voice-friendly.
