Google has unveiled a powerful AI-powered search mode that delivers deeper, smarter, and more interactive results, transforming how we search online.
CEO Sundar Pichai called it a “total reimagining of search,” with the AI mode now available in the U.S. Users can ask longer, complex questions and get richer, multi-modal answers—going far beyond simple blue links.

Since its AI Overviews feature launched last year, over 1.5 billion users have experienced Google’s generative AI search, making it the world’s largest AI search tool.
However, this innovation raises concerns. AI-generated answers might reduce visits to websites, impacting publishers and news outlets financially. Google’s ad revenue could also be at risk due to fewer clicks on traditional results.
Competition is heating up: Apple recently reported a drop in Google search traffic on its devices, partly due to rivals like ChatGPT and Perplexity.
Besides search, Google is rolling out AI features like live speech translation, virtual try-ons, and shopping assistants. They also announced an upcoming $250/month “Ultra” plan for advanced AI tools, including autonomous AI agents to manage online tasks.
