Government advises parents to guide children on safe social media use

Amid growing digital threats, the government has urged parents to take immediate action to protect their children from harmful social media content and online predators.

The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) released a detailed advisory highlighting concerns over cyberbullying, privacy breaches, and exposure to inappropriate content. It emphasized that parental involvement is now more critical than ever.

CERT advised parents to teach their children how to identify and protect personal information online. It also recommended using parental control tools like Google Family Link and Kaspersky Safe Kids to monitor and restrict risky online behavior.

The advisory further stressed regular monitoring of children’s friend lists and screen time, encouraging a balanced and secure digital lifestyle.
