iPhone 17 Leak Reveals Major Camera Upgrades and New Design

iPhone

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is reportedly getting a major camera boost, especially for selfie lovers and content creators. Industry leaks suggest all models will now feature a 24MP front camera—double the resolution of the current 12MP—delivering sharper selfies and better low-light performance.

The biggest shake-up comes in the iPhone 17 Pro models, which will pack a powerful triple 48MP camera setup: main, ultra-wide, and a new Tetraprism telephoto lens for detailed zoom shots. These Pro models may also introduce a bold new horizontal camera bar design, ditching the familiar square module.

Video creators can expect more, too—Apple may add 8K video recording and a dual-camera mode to film from both front and back simultaneously. A variable aperture system is also rumored, giving users more control over lighting and depth-of-field effects.

Meanwhile, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air will settle for a single 48MP lens due to size limits, while the standard iPhone 17 is expected to keep a similar camera setup as the iPhone 16, apart from the upgraded selfie cam.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup in September 2025.
