Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup is taking shape, with early reports revealing specifications for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the long-anticipated iPhone Fold. All three devices are expected to launch in September 2026, according to Apple analyst Jeff Pu.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are said to closely resemble the iPhone 17 Pro models, with the major upgrades focused on performance and camera capabilities. Both models will reportedly feature Apple’s new A20 Pro processor, built on the N2 process with WMCM packaging, paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM.
Display sizes are expected to be 6.3 inches for the iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. Apple will retain Face ID, with a smaller Dynamic Island. Camera improvements include an 18MP front shooter and a triple 48MP rear camera setup, including a periscope lens for advanced zoom capabilities.
The iPhone Fold is expected to launch alongside the Pro models. The device will feature a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.3-inch external screen. Unlike the Pro models, the Fold may use Touch ID instead of Face ID to optimize space in its foldable design. Its construction could combine titanium and aluminum for added durability.
All three models are listed with Apple’s C2 modem, indicating the company’s continued in-house development of cellular technology. Analysts suggest that Apple will continue focusing on premium devices, which may help the company increase market share despite a projected 4% global smartphone market contraction. iPhone shipments are expected to grow around 2%, reaching 250 million units and potentially boosting Apple’s market share to 21%.
Apple typically finalizes its fall lineup early in the year, meaning supply chain confirmations could appear soon. These reports may also indicate whether Apple will adopt a split release cycle, launching premium devices in the fall and more affordable models in the spring.
